Motion Gear Works is your one-stop precision machine shop and a recognized leader in tubes and shafts.
We specialize in repairing and reconditioning on votator tubes and shafts. We also manufacture stainless outer jackets and flanges. Upon the arrival of your barrels and tubes, Motion Gear Works will perform a complete evaluation consisting of three steps.
Services include:
Stripping off old chrome from ID of the barrel.
Clean and polish ID allowing us to locate any and all damages including...chips, cracks, scaring, and pitting.
The rebuilding process starts.
An overlay blend of stainless and nickel is applied throughout the entire ID. In order to fill in the damaged areas, bringing the ID to desired wall thickness which is typically 30 thousand over OEM specifications allowing enough material for pre-grind, chrome, finish grind, and polish to a 0.2ra microfinish. At which point you will have a superior ID surface that will resist chipping, flaking, scoring pitting and wear for a longer period of time.
Rotor shafts are repaired and reconditioned by replacing the spline ends and connector pins with new. We also run a TIR (Total Indication Run-out), to ensure that the shaft is running perfectly straight, before shipping.
Quality Assurance
Our quality control analysts examine each piece of equipment for any flaws, defects, or size changes
