Motion Gear Works specializes in twin, single, conical and segmented screws, mixer barrels, tips, flights, screws, and mixer bodies.


Other than standard repair, chrome plating, or hard facing, we offer a variety of alloys that are guaranteed to increase the wear life of your extruders by 6-8 times longer versus conventional surface coatings and thermal spraying alone.


Rather than rebuilding your flights with the same base material, we actually go back with a blend. This will allow the same hardness throughout the entire screws and mixers circumference, which will ultimately reduce chipping, flaking, and cracking of the flights.


Alternatively the 2 different alloys become combined between flights and body, which occurs with hard facing or crest-weld, causing premature metal defects such as chipping, flaking, cracking, and wear.
